Who We Are
Lake County Democratic Women is a grassroots committee devoted to recruiting, educating, leading, mentoring, and supporting women who aspire to seek an elected or appointed office. We were founded in 2004 by a leadership team of women who are elected officials, past officials, and candidates.
Men are welcome to participate in our events (many do!), and we occasionally support a few good men as candidates.
Our Goals
- To increase the number of women seeking and holding elected or appointed political office in Lake County
- To support those Democratic women in Lake County seeking office by providing:
- Campaign advice, training, and mentoring
- Resource contacts for services necessary to run a campaign, volunteers, potential funding, and endorsement
- To support the Democratic Party and the democratic process through encouraging citizens to actively participate:
- Be trained and serve as voter registrars
- Serve as precinct committeepersons
